The sixth in a series of Roger Williams vinyl sessions featuring an
hour of album tracks followed by an hour of singles, again predominantly
70s/80s tunes.
One I'd like to highlight in particular, as it's a long time favourite, which rarely seems to get much attention by Gene Middleton "No One To Love Me". It was billed as Gene Middleton & The Funk Factory on the Funk Factory issue and was the flip to a cover of Wilson Pickett's "Don't Let The Green Grass Fool You" (1970) and The Spinners (1973) which was written by Jerry Akines, Johnny Bellmon, Reginald 'Buddy' Turner and Victor Drayton from Philly aka The Corner Boys, aka The Formations, aka Silent Majority, aka Hot Ice!
They also wrote a load of songs recorded by The Intruders, The Vibrations, The Intrigues, The Ambassadors, The Futures, Barbara Mason, Bunny Sigler and many others which include The Trammps, The Whispers and Eddie Kendricks. If you've not had the pleasure before then enjoy.
