A quirky little neo soul number from Mya Noél "More Than I Am" released today. Some of the lyrics sound familiar (or at least similar)
to a 90s hip-hop tune by Skee-Lo "I Wish", which sampled the recently deceased Bernard Wright's "Spinning", which in turn was sampled by Even Funkier in Feb 2022).
It looks like only her second single, the first "Problematic" being released on 28 Feb 2022. However I did find another on Bandcamp
"Mya's Favourite Things" (yes it is THAT song!) from Dec 2021. All released on Lowerkey
Records which is based in Durham, NC, so assume that she is from those
parts?
Her voice sound very young, especially on the first single which is
perhaps why I can find no social media links?
