written by her sister Carolyn and ex Satintones member William Nelson
Sanders (aka Sonny Saunders) whose writing credits are on so many 60s/70s
tunes loved on the Northern Soul scene.
It was released on Friday (17 Jun 2022) from a forthcoming EP "Queen Of Soul" by Mary Griffin as a tribute to Aretha. There are two versions, a 3:02 version, and this 4:35 extended mix so it would be rude not to post the longer
mix!
In a career spanning 30 years Mary, from Houston, TX, has opened, performed and recorded with many of the greats: Patti LaBelle, George Clinton, Etta James, Nancy Wilson, Mary J Blige, Temptations, Anita Baker, Phyllis Hyman, Al Jarreau, Kool & The Gang, Frankie Beverly, Millie Jackson, Jennifer Holliday, to name but a few.
