CARRTOONS is a multi-instrumentalist and producer Ben
Carr from New York. He released his sixth album "Homegrown" on 20 Apr
2022.
A couple of singles were pre-released from it "Lighta" (9 Mar) and the standout track for me (which may appeal to the Northern
Soul crew) "Groceries" (18 Apr) which features Nigel Hall of Lettuce who also have a new single released today.
With 14 tracks and it being 'frantic Friday' I've not had a chance to
fully digest the album so there may well be some other good tracks on it
but "Groceries" stood out a mile on first skim along with "Be There for You" and "Young Buck".
I don't quite know how to categorise this material so will just call it
future soul where he channels old school vibes into modern grooves.
