Loc'd is a new artist who debuted last May with a single
"Sweet Escape" followed in Oct by a three track EP "Out". Her new five track EP "In" was released on 22 Feb 2022 with the lead single from it, "New Jim Crow", being released on 2 Feb.
I believe her real name is Brenda Michelle Bailey as all her songs
are credited to that name. Other than that I can find no more about
her. From the label name I would have had a guess that she may be from
Chicago (i.e iLL (Illinois) University) but I discovered that it is based
in Richmond, VA, so none the wiser.
Incidentally, Loc'd is a US urban slang term meaning 'gangstered up' or
alternatively 'dreadlocked', which I discovered while trying to research
her ... so my time wasn't completely wasted .. so now you know if it
comes up in a quiz lol!!
