A cover of the Eddie Kendricks classic on Tamla which was originally an
album track in 1972 on 'Hold On' and was only released as a B side on a 45 in
1977.
It's been covered several times.
Frankie Gee
was the first to release it on 45 in 1975,
Arnie's Love
recorded it in 1985 and
Jamie Principle
in 1990. There is also another version by Alexsamdor
from 1979. Billy Griffin of The Miracles recorded a version with Ian Levine on Motorcity in 1996. If you know of any others then leave a comment.
Euen Fryer's Athens Of The North label has acquired the services of UK reggae singer Peter Hunningale to do the vocals on this alternate take of the song. A 7" version was released last Aug, but a 12" version was released 30 Apr 2021.
