Raja-Nee' [2023] - I Adore You [JARF Music Group]

Another remastered single from Raja-Nee' taken from her critically acclaimed album "The Sovereign of 1472". At the end of January "My Window" was remaster for single release. This time around it's the turn of "I Adore You" which will now be the eighth single from the album which topped the Amazon UK Hot New Releases chart on several occasions with "I Adore You" being one of the tracks that hit the top spot. Co-written with, and produced by MS1 Project's Mike 'DJ Blue' Harrison and now remastered.

According to Raja-Nee', "I Adore You" is a 'crate song', she says: "You know a song that you recorded a long time ago and revisited and revised it.”

The song was produced by California native Tony Hardy and of course Raja-Nee’, co-written by another principal writer on the album Richard Wilford. Raja-nee’ has a few things under her belt for 2023, including a book, a soundtrack, and no doubt more singles to boot. Stay tuned we haven’t heard the last from this lady!

We still have a few copies of signed CDs left. This album really is a slow burner and once the CDs have gone, they are gone, as we won't be getting any more due to exorbitant US shipping costs. (email soulstrutter@gmail.com).

Raja-Nee' Feat. Wilfred 'Nenja' Frelix [2022] - One Less Bell To Answer [JARJ Music Group]

The first new single from Raja-Nee's recent album "The Sovereign of 14742" is her cover of "One Less Bell To Answer" released today (15 Nov '22). It features her good friend Wilfred "Nenja" Frelix on guitar and has a glossy video.

The Bacharach & Davis song was first recorded in 1967 by Keely Smith and was a big hit for The 5th Dimension in 1970 reaching #2 Hot 100 and has been covered by many of the greats including Gladys Knight, Barbara Streisand, Shirley Bassey and Dionne Warwick to name just a few.

The album was originally CD only but was released digitally on 31 Oct. We have a limited number of signed CDs still available and have an even more limited stock of signed, coloured vinyl copies on their way. Email soulstrutter@gmail.com if you require a copy.

Raja-Nee' [2022] - The Sovereign of 14742 [JARF Music Group] (Full Album) OUT NOW DIGITALLY

Having been available only on CD since 28 Aug 2022, the new album by Raja-Nee' "The Sovereign of 14742" is now available digitally as of 31 Oct 2022.

We still have a handful of signed CDs which can be obtained for £15 incl. postage by emailing soulstrutter@gmail.com. We're also taking orders for signed, coloured vinyl copies which are estimated to be £25 depending on US shipping costs.

The new album has twelve tracks with two interludes and is dedicated to Raja-Nee's parents with the title being a reference to the address she grew up in at 14742 Lincoln Avenue, Harvey, IL. Raja-Nee tells us: "The entire CD is dedicated to my parents. That’s why you see all of the old pictures. My parents, my 8 siblings, both grandmothers (mother & father), Auntie, my daughter and husband. They are all important to who I am and who I’ve become. So it’s all about them!"

Putting the four singles already released to one side, and two interludes, there are six new songs. The next single  (15 Nov 2022) will be a cover of the Bacharach & David song "One Less Bell To Answer", possibly best know by The Fifth Dimension (1970) with Marilyn McCoo on lead vocals, but also recorded by many others including Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Dells, Dionne Warwick, Barbara Streisand and Shirley Bassey, so very big shoes to fill on that one and she does a terrific job. I believe that there are at least another three tracks which have potential for future singles i.e. "All I Need (Vicky's Song)", "Close To Me" and "I Adore You".

Raja-Nee' was 'discovered' by Marshall Thompson (founder of The Chi-Lites) who mentored her and she toured with The Chi-Lites and performed on their 1990 "Just Say You Love Me" album. Later she signed to a deal with Auto & Cherokee who got her an audition with Jimmy Jam Harris and Terry Lewis which led to a solo project on their Perspective label where they produced her hit track "Turn It Up" which also featured on "Low Down Dirty Shame" movie soundtrack in 1994. She released a few singles and an album "Hot & Ready" and had a UK #42 hit with 'Turn It Up' in Mar 1995.

In 2020 she re-emerged from her musical hiatus with a vengeance with "Come Get This Love" making a big noise, especially in the UK reaching #1 on the UK Soul Chart, and gaining a vinyl release on LRK Records.
