The Shapeshifters Feat. Teni Tinks [2021] - You Ain't Love (Club Mix) [Glitterbox]

Latest release from The Shapeshifters featuring in-demand session singer Teni Tinks escaped yesterday,  2 Apr 2021.

Teni has toured with the artists such as The Jackson’s, Quincy Jones, Stormzy, Tweet, Glenn Lewis, Jess Glynne, Jessie j.

There's a fine line between good disco and 'cheesy' disco but these guys always seem to be on the right side of that line.  The bass line is infectious and the 'disco diva' soulful vocals from Teni Tinks gives it credibility. I don't think it as 'instant' as 'Finally Ready' which I thought should have been a smash ... so what do I know? It comes in two sizes, the edit (feautured below) and the obligatory 6:35 Club Mix.

Midas Hutch [2021] - The Ride [Self Released] (Full Album)

Midas Hutch is a psedonym for FS Green (Franklin Samuel Groen) a Dutch-Surinamese DJ and producer from Amsterdam. He's released a new album 'The Ride' on 24 Mar 2021. It's mainly new-school disco with an 80s vibe. The two best tracks for my taste are 'The Wheel Feat. Reva DeVito', and  'The Right Way', both featured below along with a link to the full album.

Yet another cover version of a disco/club classic. This time it's a cover of Gwen McCrae's 'Keep The Fire Burning' from 1982 (written by Willie Hutch) by an outfit calling themselves Funky French League & Young Pulse (DJ/producer from Paris) featuring UK singer Natasha Watts

It features on a six track EP 'Love Will Bring' released 5 Mar 2021.  It is essentially three tracks, each having a full length version and a radio edit.

Saucy Lady [2021] - Delerious [Star Creature] (Full EP)

Boston based singer, songwriter and DJ Saucy Lady (aka Beantown Disco Queen) released her latest EP 'Delerium' on 20 Feb 2021. The best track, which is an uptempo version of Minnie Riperton's 1975 single 'Inside My Love', has already been released as a single last August (posted below).

She's also just posted up a 'teaser' for a new single (a collaboration with U KEY) which is another cover of Bobby Caldwell's 'What You Won't Do For Love' (posted below), also just released by Roniece Levias.

Alex Puddu [2021] - Only For Men [Self Released]

The third single taken from Alex Puddu's forthcoming album 'Love After Dark' (due for release in April 2021) is a new entry on thiis week's UK Soul Breakers chart.

An instrumental disco track recorded in Florida, mixed by Rob Hardt and produced by Cool Million.  It  has a bit of a Timmy Thomas 'Why Can't We Live Together' feel about it. I can't find it currently available for sale anywhere, not even on his own website.

Ginny Brown & The Collective [2021] - Starlight [Parloscope International]

I'm only posting this as it's a new entry into UK Soul Breakers chart this week. It's a lightweight, contrived, poppy (probably blue-eyed and UK based) disco track ... it's even got a rock sounding guitar lick in there ... enough said!

A quick check confirms that this group is from Nottingham.

Kelli Sae [2021] - Good Love [Reel People Music]

This has gone straight in at #1 on Traxsource Top 100. Another Reel People production featuring Kelli Sae with a Michael Gray extended and instrumental mix.

It's retro disco track that tends to get termed 'soulful house' that does well on UK Soul chart.

Vladimir Cetkar [2021] - I Remember

Macedonian dance from Vladimir Cetkar (an unlikley name for a soul singer, blue-eyed or otherwise) delivers a dance track with very strong Chic influences - sounds like a riff from Chic's 'I Want Your Love' to my ears compare 2:40 with Chic below about 2:50 in.

Not my 'cup of tea', lightweight neo disco, but is the sort of track that seems to do well on UK Soul chart.

Chic [1978] - I Want Your Love [Atlantic]

Heavenly

Here's a better track he relased in 2014, very George Benson influenced?
