Durand Jones & The Indications [2023] - Ride or Die b/w More Than Ever [Colemine #CLMN-222]

It's been a long time coming but two tracks from Durand Jones & The Indications Jul '21 album "Private Space" are being paired on a 7" vinyl release on 20 Oct. We can't believe that it's been over two years since the album release and these are two of the six particular tracks we highlighted from it:  "Ride or Die" and the superb "More Than Ever", although we rated the whole album a 9/10 and it featured in our top 10 of "Top 25 Albums of The Year 2021".

They haven't released any new material since the album, although yesterday they released a live three track EP "Live At Paste" which was recorded in Aug 2017. Durand Jones released a solo album "Wait Til I Get Over" in May this year to a very mixed reception.

Durand Jones & The Indications [2021] - Private Space [Colemine] (Full Album)

Durand Jones & The Indications released their latest album "Private Space" today (30 Jul 2021) (their third to date) having already drip-fed three singles from it: "Witchoo" (12 May), "Love Will Work It Out" (8 Jun) (the best so far) and "The Way That I Do" (13 Jul). 

There are some pretty good tracks which include the best of the three previously released "Love Will Work It Out" along with "More Than Ever", "Ride Or Die", "Reach Out", "Sea Of Love" and the title track "Private Space" (which is slightly reminiscent of the 1976 modern soul classic by Flowers "For Real"). 

It would probably be easier to list the tracks I'm not so keen on, which are very few. I'm not all that keen on Aaron Frazer's falsetto vocals, so that narrows it down a bit! A solid album though.

I had a quick look on their YT channel to see if they've released another single to launch the album, but it doesn't appear that they have 'yet'.

It is available in all formats i.e. Digital, CD, Vinyl and, unusually, even on cassette!

The second single, "Love Will Work It Out", to be pre-released from  the album "Private Space" (due  30 Jul 2021) was released on 8 Jun. The other single is "Witchoo" which was posted on 12 May which isn't in the same league as this.
