Lalah Hathaway Feat. Ariza & KOLE [2023] - The Energy [Self Released]

The new single from Lalah Hathaway, out today, is "The Energy" was co-written with and features L.A. based composer/producer Juan Ariza originally from from Bogata, Columbia, and KOLE (Nicole Cohen) who is a Grammy nominated songwriter also from L.A.

I say 'features' but it seems to be a trend to include writers and producers names on the main credits whether or not they actually perform of the recording.

Lalah last featured her with a birthday profile in Dec '22 (with a playlist of many of her best recordings) and before that on a single "Coastin'" from Boney James' "Detour" album in Aug '22.

Ariza & Lalah Hathaway [2022] - Canvas [Self Released]

Juan Andrés Carreño Ariza is a composer and guitarist from Bogota, Colombia, currently living in L.A. He is a graduate from Berklee College of Music.

He's released an album "Why Am I" in 2020 and far too many singles to count since 2017 (approx 86!). His latest single "Canvas" was released today (4 Mar 2022) which features Lalah Hathaway who he co-wrote the song with.

Whilst looking around for a video for the new single I came across the video below with Lalah and B. Slade 'jammin' at Syleena Johnson's For the Love of R&B event on Grammy weekend 2015
