Anushka [2021] - Yemaya [Tru Thoughts] (Full Album)

Brighton duo Anushka have featured a couple of times already on the blog with their last two singles "You Mine" and "Brave" both feature on their new album, which is their second. The previous album "Broken Circuit" was released in 2014 on Gilles Peterson's Brownswood label. The latest release is on Brighton label Tru Thoughts.

It's a bit of a mixed bag with "Bad Weather" probably being the only other soul related track as much of it is electronica / future beats kinda stuff.

Anushka [2021] - You Mine [Tru Thoughts]

You may expect that with a name like Anushka, and hearing only a female vocal, that Anushka is a female solo artist but, in fact, they are Brighton (UK) duo Max Wheeler (producer) and Victoria Port (singer/songwriter) who have been together for almost ten years. They debuted with an EP, 'You Guess' in 2013 and followed up in 2014 with an album 'Broken Circuit'.

 'You Mine' is the fourth single from their second album ‘Yemaya’ due 25 Jun 2021, which is a departure from their normal jazz/electronic/dance material.
