Our introduction to the music of singer/songwriter, pianist Jafar Curry was in Nov '21 with the final single, "Loving My Girl", from his, then forthcoming, third album "The Tuxedo Bartender".
He followed the album with a six track EP "Throwback Week" in May '22 which contained a remix of "On The Low", one of the standouts from "The Tuxedo Bartender".
No further material has materialised until now as he has a new single "New York Girl" due out next Wed (14 Feb), Valentine's Day. It's the first song from an
upcoming album "The Pink Sessions". The new single combines elements of soul, jazz, hip-hop and
pop.
Jafar was born in Harrisburg, PA, later relocating to Atlanta, GA., where
he began writing his own music, singing and performing whilst at middle
school with a group of friends.
He has spent the last couple of years writing new music whilst traveling
through Asia, Latin America and Europe playing the grand piano on cabaret
stages.
