Well, we have posted two cover versions of Ashford & Simpson's 1978
hit in the last week or so (Andy Bach
and 4 mixes by Reelsoul & Groove Junkies
only yesterday) and we have just been notified by Starpoint Radio's Mike
Prior of another released today by Melba Moore.
Melba, who will reach the tender age of 80 in October, needs no
introduction as she's been recording since the mid 60s. She takes a
different direction with the song rather than a straight cover taking it at a much slower pace (90 BPM in contrast to A&S 116 original and 118 and 124 house versions) and gives it,
dare we say, a more contemporary feel.
