A debut album "Somewhere Green" from North London's Ella Bleakey is released today (4 Mar
'23). She has so far released a handful (approx. 5) singles and an EP
since emerging in 2019.
The song that she attributes to setting her on her musical journey
is Ella Fitzgerald's "Every Time We Say Goodbye", who she is actually named
after.
Her debut album has been two years in the making and the title track she
has been sitting on since she was 17. It's difficult to pigeon hole, but I
guess it could be 'labelled' jazzy pop/neo soul with the track that
appeals most to this listener being "Solo" which has a cool rhythm pattern.
