This single was received on promo on Saturday and it got buried in the weekend
melee and I forgot about it until I started seeing it getting spins in the
last few days and got a nudge via email.
It's a new single from Russell Tompkins Jr who was of
course the lead singer with The Stylistics right up until 2000. The song
"Say Hello" was written by McKinley Jackson with the legendary Steals twins Mervin & Melvin (aka
Mystro (Mervin) & Lyric (Melvin)) who were responsible for so
many Philly hits such as The Detroit Spinners "Could It Be I'm Falling In
Love", Major Harris "After Loving You" & "Each Morning I Wake Up"' as
well as songs recorded by First Choice, Ecstasy, Passion & Pain,
Moments Of Truth, Margie Joseph & Blue Magic and many others. It has his distinctive falsetto vocals of the early Stylistics hits.
Whilst here there was another single by him from 2014 "Whatever It Takes" which is well worth a listen.

Always the same and magnificent voice of this immense singer.
"Say Hello" is a great song like the days of the Stylistics.
