I must have been one of the few who didn't really take to Jay Diggs' last
single "Something Bout The Night" as I felt it was a bit too 'obvious' and
poppy. I was also put off by the fact that he released a disco version of the
Pokemon theme as his previous single!
So, with that said, I approached his debut album "JAMS" released
today (5 Nov 2021) with low expectation. He is
obviously influenced by the 80s and there is one of those horrendous mid
80s style 'thrash' songs appropriately named "Slasher" as it had me
reaching for the razor blades! I didn't like that sort of music then and
dread to think that it's making a comeback, God forbid!
However, on the more positive side there are a few good tracks which
include "Lonely", "Back To The Streets" and "Ready" but I'm afraid most of
it is too retro 80s for me, but I'll post the full album so you can make
your own mind up on it.
