The New Mastersounds are a four man band from Leeds founded in 2001 who have now released around eighteen albums. They have released several versions of "A Brighter Day" over the last few months with
different vocalists i.e. Josh Hoyner (16 Jul), Adryon De León (Orgone) (20 Aug) and Lamar Williams Jr (3 Sep) (who is the son of Allman Brothers /
Sea Level bassist Lamar Williams).
I'm not quite sure how to categorise the tune, funky but not really funk, jazzy but not really jazz, it has a Northern Soul feel and tempo (160 bpm) but again not really NS, so I'll just tag as modern soul! Each version offers something a little different.
