My selection of the best releases this week (Oct 2021 Wk 42)
In no particular order other than tempo.
What started off as a slow week and weekend for new releases eventually turned up some, if not outstanding tunes. It was tricky trimming it back to twelve in the end and a couple which may have featured have been put in the covers dozen as they are remixes from Eric Roberson et al with "Lessons" and TanQueray Hayward with the Realm Remix of "Standing All Alone".
A few tunes may 'technically' be reissues as Derrick Givens album was apparently released in 2015 and Tony DeWayne published, but not released, in 2016.
As said above, with nothing particularly standing out on the singles front, the weeks SoulStrutter Selection of the Week goes to D. Saunders superb album "Let Me Sing To You" full of quality deep soul tunes, two of which are featured in the new "The Deep Dozen". Again, it would appear that some of the tracks, four to my reckoning, may have appeared on a promo album "My Music" in 2018 but there is no evidence that it was ever released.
