Roger Williams [2022-05-08] - The SoulSorts Podcast [Podcast #05]

Roger Soulsorts Williams was lined up for a guest appearance at Ease Your Mind's 5th Anniversary yesterday in Banbury but unfortunately had to pull out owing to family commitments.

However, as he had his record boxes prepared, he's put together a 2 hour podcast of some of the things he may have played. The first hour consists of  LP tracks with the second hour being those pesky little 45rpm thingys.

As always Roger digs deep to find quality under-played / semi-known tunes. Enjoy.

Global Soul Chart 7th May 2022 (Week 18)

7th May 2022
The Global Soul chart broadcast on Sat 7th May as it is every Saturday between  5pm-7pm (GMT) on Global Soul Radio.

Each week around a dozen or more 'Breakers' are interspersed with chart entries. These will be posted separately. Russ Cole covered the show for Franklin Sinclair this week.

A new, and surprise, number one from Tigga Bounce and another surprise is the highest of six new entries, straight in at #2 after only a week from release, by PJ Morton.

Making way for the six new entries were all four predicted to go last week along with two new entries from the previous week from B. Bravo & Reva DeVito and Secret Soul Society. Eric Roberson dropped significantly, as suspected, but held on for another week but will probably be gone next week. With almost half the chart on the decline (9) we could see a big clear out next week.

Apart from Tigga Bounce, the only climbers were the three tipped last week i.e. Samuel Archer, Kayla Amor and Clowette, along with Desmond Parson.

Summary: 5 risers, 9 fallers, 0 non-movers and 6 new entries

New Entries: PJ Morton, Zay Blaze, Reuben James, Sierra Sellers, Sly Johnson, Grant Alexander

Highest Risers: Clowette (+14), Desmond Parson (+10), Kayla Amor (+8)

Biggest Fallers: NiquaB (-17), Eric Roberson (14), Syd (-10)

Losers: Secret Soul Society, Ezinne Nnorom, Fana Hues, Shan Ako, B. Bravo & Reva DeVito, Loie

DJ Kool Keith [2022-05-08] Soulful Slow Jams [Soul Groove Radio]

This week's Soulful Slow Jams from DJ Kool Keith. Predominantly oldies from the 70s and 80s this week with only a handful of new releases.

Interestingly the last track is from Janice Dempsey who is one of the writers on the killer cut "Take Her Picture Down" from Melba Moore's new album "Imagine".

Another track worth highlighting is The Soul Children's J. Blackfoot "I Choose You" which isn't the Willie Hutch classic or the Paris modern soul gem but a different song from his 2009 album "Sole Of My Shoes".
