Rahsaan Patterson [2021] Heroes & Gods 2.0 [Shanchie] (Full Album)

After an eight year hiatus from recording, since releasing "Bleuphoria" in 2011, Rahsaan Patterson released "Heroes & Gods" in May 2019. On Friday (5 Nov 2021)  "Heroes & Gods 2.0" is released which is the album 'reimagined' by house producer Quentin Harris.

Essentially all the tracks have been 'housed up' which will make purists cringe but may give the album new dancefloor appeal.  The jury's out on this one so I'll let you make up your own mind as to whether it adds or detracts from the original from the sneak preview below. I've also included the full original album.

Sugar Rainbow [2021] - Game Of Life (DJ Sammy Noire Remix) [Rainbow Funk]

UK based singer/songwriter Sugar Rainbow is of Apache mixed heritage and grew up in Holland. She is known for her five-octave soprano range.

In August she released "Game Of Life" which has just received a remix by DJ Sammy Noire and will be out shortly but you can hear it now below.

On her musical journey she has lived and worked in Holland, Belgium, France, Spain, Africa, USA, and England as a singer/songwriter.

In her late teens she was signed to Belgium label 'Yes We Tall Records as a duo Sugar & Spice with a keyboard player. She then set up a recording studio in her spare room at her home in Holland and recorded her first two albums "Magic Touch" and "Awareness" along with an EP. She then moved to South Africa where the albums were well received.

Whilst working with Colonel Abrams in the US she signed another contract and recorded another album "Nu Soul" which was well received.

When she returned to England she signed up with a production company specialising in pop/rock music and recorded another album and then hooked up with a sound engineer who was working for the Spice Girls and recorded another two albums "Invisible Life" and "Independent Dreams".

She was invited to sing lead in a band with some great musicians where she met the funky bass player John Thompson, who worked with various great artist such as D’Angelo, Girls Aloud, Omar, The Jones Girls, Erykah Badu, Eric Bennet, Tito Jackson Brandy, Soul2Soul, Shalamar, Jocelyn Brown, and many, many others.

A few years later they decided to form their own 7-piece band called Soul Dimension singing funky party songs and entertaining at various functions.

They then had the idea to start an old-school 70’s/80’s funk music production and put a team together which include the funk brothers of Soul Dimension, John Thompson & Peter Barnes, called RainbowFunk doing the music they love, Soul, Funk, Disco, Jazz, Lovers Rock.

They are currently working on some new funky tracks and touching up the old ones. An Album is in the works and expected 2022.
