I scratched my head a bit when I saw this new album from Hunter Love
as it sounded familiar and that was because I posted the title track which
was released as a single only a few weeks ago (24 Jun) when he was going
by the name
Hunter Gilliam (or at least that is the name he was using on BandCamp at the
time!)
He's a blue-eyed soul artist from Portland, OR, who emerged last year, under the wing of Farnell Newton's Lofijazzsoul label. "Certain Kinda" is his debut album released yesterday (22 Jul 2021) following around half
a dozen solo singles along with others on which he was a featured
artist.
The albums highlights are "Sweet Love", "All On Me", "Hold The Phone" which features Farnell Newton (on trumpet) along with the title
track.
