Whilst the world seems to be revelling in the launch of 'Barbie' and
'Oppenheimer' movies last weekend, Netflix slipped out a sc-fi comedy
"They Cloned Tyrone" which stars Teyonah Parris, John Boyega and Jamie
Foxx.
So what you may ask? Well the movie's writer and director Juel Taylor
and producer Charles D. King (who had previously worked with her)
managed to persuade 'The Queen of Neo Soul' Erykah Badu to re-record her 1997
single "Tyrone" taken from her second album "Live". The modified version of the
song titled "Who Cloned Tyrone" plays over the end credits.
The soundtrack, consisting of 17 songs, was released on Friday (21
Jul) to coincide with the movie streaming on Netflix. An 'unlikely' inclusion amongst all the neo soul is the full length version of Diana Ross' 1976 hit "Love Hangover".
