Having recently released two compilation ("Dome 30 Years Vol 1 & Vol. 2") to celebrate 30
years, the label has released another titled "Mellow Dome" which features
'15 mellow soul grooves' spanning their history.
The compilation kicks off with Hil St. Soul's breakthrough single, an acoustic version of Stevie Wonder's song
"Until You Come Back To Me" from 2000. In a similar vein is Donna Gardier's version of H-D-H's "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)". Another song recorded by Aretha, "Angel", is covered by Dennis Taylor.
Moonchild's Amber Navran crops up on a track from Jarrod Lawson's last
album "Be The Change". Terry Callier's "What Color Is Love" is ably covered by Citrus Sun and
Valerie Etienne who recently featured with Ernie McKone &
Family on a cover of Brenda Russells' "In The Thick Of It".
A lovely version of Gamble & Huff's "Early Morning Love" by LaAerial & Lasperanza done in '77 by Lou Rawls.
There's a couple of recent singles from Anthony David & Algebra Blessett, and Full Flava.
Those are just a few of the tracks, all predominantly covers, so all in all a very good, laid back
album.
