October London [2023] - The Rebirth Of Marvin [Death Row Records] (Full Album)

We are being spoilt on the new music front today with albums from Luther Vandross, Will Downing and the piece de resistance, an absolutely sublime album "The Rebirth Of Marvin" from October London. For any who doubt 'real' soul music is alive and well then bend your ear around this masterpiece.

We alerted you to its coming last week when posting the lead single (albeit "Mullholland Drive" appeared on Snoop Dogg's album last year) "Back To Your Place" for which there is now a supporting video (below).

The album 'does what it says on the tin', a set of eleven tracks inspired by the great man. As said with the Will Downing album, it would be churlish trying to single out any specific track as if this album doesn't 'blow your socks off', then you are visiting the wrong place. Having said that a special mention must be made for the last track "You Look Better" as that one has been on repeat!

October London is Jared Samuel Erskine from South Ben, IN. He took his stage name from the month he was born and his fascination with London. He was introduced to Snoop Dogg by Yung Quincy and took his bow on the music scene in July 2016 featuring on Snoop Dogg's "Cool Aid" album on the track "Revolution". Later that month he made his solo debut with "Black Man in America" followed by an album "Color Blind: Love" on Jazze Pha's Cadillac Music label, not surprisingly in October. His sophomore album "Color Blind: Hate & Happiness" arrived in Apr 2017.
