The second single released today by Ace/Kent, which is on their Deep Soul imprint, has them plundering the vaults of Moonsong / Clintone with two songs written by Sam Dees.
Dees worked with Alpaca Phase III on their 1974 Atlantic single "I Like To Party" which he produced and co-wrote with Clinton Moon. The group released just one more single on Clintone the following year "Love At First Sight" (written by Dees) / "Bump & Wind" both produced by Dees. Sean Hampsey's Diggin' Deep label unearthed a previously unreleased song by them "Someone To Run To" in 2020.
The A side of the Deep Soul release is Alpaca Phase III/3 with "Paper Man", a song written by Dees with group members Ken Walker and Wes Lewis (who co-wrote "Someone To Run To" with another member Berry Collins and Dees).
The flip side "False Alarms" written and sung by Sam Dees first appeared on a Kent Sam Dees compilation "Second To None" in 1995.
