The third Wagram Music compilation released today is "Funk Diggin' : Funk Music Gems From Vinyl Diggers".
It opens with a 1977 cover of British blue-eyed funk band Stretch's "Why Did You Do It" by South African singer Margaret Singana. She had a debilitating stroke the following year but made a
comeback in 1986.
Wizdom's 1980 modern soul tune "I'm So In Love With You" originally on Drive and reissued by Expansion in 2000 on 12" coupled
with Leon Debouse's great "Every Fellas Girl". I'd hardly call this funk,
funky perhaps, but there you go!
