Tomi Jenkins may not be a name that immediately trips off
the tongue but he is a founding member of Cameo who were
originally known as New York City Players when formed in 1974 and then
The Players until the name was contested by the Ohio Players whereby
their name was changed to Cameo. Larry Blackmon and several other
members were in a group called East Coast formed in 1973 which included
Gwen Guthrie prior to forming New York City Players.
He released his debut solo album "Tomi" in 1989 and another in 2005 "The Way" followed by "A Life To Remember" in 2017 and has released a new single "Like We Used To" on 28 Mar 2022 which is from a forthcoming album "Soul Survivor".
