A modern soul masterpiece from the pen of Phillip Mitchell.
"How Can I Go On Without You" was originally released on Capitol in 1975 by Corey Blake
(aka Cicero Blake). It has become an anthem over the decades and is a hard
one to find which would set you back up to
£1,000
or more if one came up for sale. It was reissued by Grapevine in 2004
and even those are selling for up to £100 these days.
The song was also recorded by John Edwards (former lead
singer of Detroit Spinners) on a Kent compilation "A Careful Man" as "How Can I Make It Without You" in 1996 and then got a
vinyl release as "How Can I Go On Without You" on Kent Select in 2006 and these sell for up to £200 now! Edwards' version
is slightly faster than Blake's original.
So by far the cheapest way to own it on vinyl is to buy this Expansion
reissue when it is released on 25 Mar 2022.
UPDATE: Thanks to Yves for reminding me that Phillip Mitchell himself
also recorded his song on a CD "Just The Beginning" released
by Grapevine in 2004.
