Sade Susanto [2021] - Solitude [Juni Records]

Sade Susanto is Shadia Kansha  from Indonesia and is the second artist posted today who has a law degree (the other being Mimikat)!

She debuted in 2018 with a single "The Man Who Has Hurt Me" and released her debut album "Breakpoint" later that year.

Her fifth single to date "Solitude" was released on 20 Aug 2021. With a name like Sade you know what to expect ... yep ... another of those female, wispy neo soul tunes I'm afraid!

Anthony Butler [2021] - I'll Lay It on You / You're So Fine [Self Released]

A bit of a break from the wispy neo soul and the female vocalists and one for the more traditionalists. Anthony Butler is someone I can find little about but a quick search on Discogs identifies a few gospel compilations he's featured on going back to at least 1997. Some of the tracks were featured on a 2015 EP "Judgement's Coming", but these are real traditional gospel tunes.

Digging a bit deeper two of the songs were originally recorded in 1955 (on 10" shellac on Apollo records) and another two in 1958, so that must make him at least 80 assuming he was only 15 when the first tracks was recorded. Makes me wonder if he is the same singer?

He's released two secular tracks on 13 Aug 2021. "I'll Lay It On You" is a more contemporary / old school tune, with "You're So Fine" being a deep soul ballad. Both songs writing credits are to him.

The second single from London based, Sheffield born, Singapore/Hong Kong raised singer Mimikat (aka Jessica Tham) is "Lantau" released on 19 Aug 2021.  Another of those wispy, dreamy type neo soul/R&B tunes.

She has a four track EP "Where It Started" lined up for digital release on 10 Sep, it has already been released on 12" coloured vinyl via Rough Trade in April.

Jessica Tham has a degree in law from Bristol University (graduating in 2017) and is currently an associate at Kennedys in London.

Nia Wyn [2021] - Who Asked You [Self Released]

Welsh singer Nia Wynn was featured here last month with a single "What Do You Expect" with Shuko released at the end of Jun. She's since released another single "Dangerous" which wasn't posted as it's predominantly a rap track featuring Aaron Unknown.

Her latest effort is "Who Asked You" (released on 18 Aug 2021) which also comes with an edbl remix which 'inevitably includes a section of rap by Keiron Boothe. edbl (aka Ed Black) is certainly getting around a bit at the moment!

The non-rap version originally appeared on her eight track EP "Tale A Seat" released in March. (Confused? an 8 tracker regarded as an EP and the last post from Amaria a 7 track album ... who decides?)

Amaria [2021] - Bittersweet [Self Released] (Full Album)

Amaria (McGee) from Tampa, FL, recently featured with London producer, K, Le Maestro, on a single "Out Late". Last week (18 Aug 2021) she released her debut album "Bittersweet".

She debuted last year with a single called "Morning" and followed it up with "Waiting" (video below). Since then she's gone on to release another six singles and now her first album which contains seven tracks, three of which are her last three singles all released this year ("Got Me Like", "Think About It" and "Roses"). Of the remining tracks, I think "Running Away" is the 'most likely! Most, if not all, of the tracks are wispy, dreamy and mellow.
