Nicholas Davis' last single "Let's Work It Out" was released back in April and was the SoulStrutter Selection of the
Week and as an added bonus I also included his debut single "Man Like Me".
His latest single was released on 15 Nov 2021 which somehow has slipped
under the radar so thankfully he notified me of it's release. It's a
cover of Levert's "Baby I'm Ready" written by Gerald Levert which appeared on their 1990
"Rope A Dope Style" album and, dare I say it, I actually prefer the new
version.
That's three 'solid' releases now from Mr. Davis for lovers of real soul
music.

He's not trying to replace the old teddy bear he's the new version for new school love the way you made a twist to it keep doing what you do because I'm loving it baby I'm ready with a new version and vibe.

He made it his own in this song . I love it just as much as I did when Gerald Levert song it . Nicholas is the hidden Jewel š which we all have been waiting for . ReplyDeleteWhen I first heard his songs, I immediately said I can rock this and then came Baby I'm Ready and I was like WHOA!! We need this type of music back in the world today, this is what I grew up listening to...LOVE SONGS. He is not trying to replace Gerald Levert but is actually paying homage to him but making it a style of his own! People nowadays don't know what real love is anymore. This song is full of meaning and from the heart! I look forward to listening to all his songs but Baby I'm Ready takes the cake!! Keep them coming Nicholas Davis, I can't wait to hear more music from you!!!! Teddy Bear has his own style of music and I like it!!! He and both his music are a force to be reckoned with! ReplyDeleteNicholas is a phenomenal artist. His execution and delivery of his music is something that makes real lovers of quality soul music excited! A sense of nostalgia is what I had upon 1st hearing Mr. Davis. His vocals exudes sultriness and sensuality; definitely pleasing & enjoyable listening pleasures. I recently visited the beautiful island of Maui in the state of Hawaii;Nicholas' music is something I could vibe to while creating a romantic atmosphere; especially his cover of "Baby I'm Ready." The song is an aphrodisiac all by itself. I look forward to continually supporting Mr. Davis & his music in the near & far future.

ReplyDeleteI grew up listening to Gerald Levert and I must say Nicholas payed homage in a very beautiful and classy way. I can hear the hunger and passion in his voice throughout the entire song, I can’t think of anyone better to pay respect with a classic song written by one of the best soul singer’s of our time. Nicholas you have an amazing gift, thank you for paying respect in such a way that lights a flame of your own unique flare and glow, keep shining your light š✨
