Georgie Sweet [2021] - Circled (plus full Discography) [Futuristica]

"Circled" is a new track from Georgie Sweet played on New Music Hour last week which some thought sampled Barry White but in fact it is Hubert Laws "What A Night!" from his 1980 album "Family" (I've included it below to compare).

It's from a forthcoming 32 track compilation called "Futuristica 15" to be released on 3 Sep 2021 and only available via BandCamp. The '15' refers to Futuristica's 15th anniversary as the label was set up in 2006 by DJ Simon S.

Georgie Sweet is a relatively new 20 year UK artist from London who released her debut album "Misunderstood" last year (19 Oct 2020) to critical acclaim from JazzFM and Gilles Peterson.

According to the write up on BandCamp she released two singles prior to the album release "Here" and "Sorry" (which may be a typo as I note on Discogs there is a double release of "Stories" & "Sorry" unless "Here" was released separately?). Her first release, though, was an EP "Half Human" in Apr 2018 which, as far as I can tell, included two tracks, the title track plus "Sunshine Through The Trees", also on Futuristica. The two tracks were part of Simon S' 2018 debut album  "Music 4 Alternative Souls".

She also featured on the title track of Children Of Zeus' latest album "Balance" released earlier this year

In this post I've included, what I believe to be, her full catalogue to date including a 48 minute live performance recorded at Under The Bridge (Stamford Bridge the home of Chelsea F.C.)  on 27 March 2021 hosted by Global Soul.
