Leela James (Aleicha Janeice Campbell) drops another single today (16 Jul 2021) from her forthcoming album "See Me" due on 30 Jul 2021.
It follows "Put It On Me" (11 Jun) and "Complicated" (12 Feb) already released as singles. On the basis of the three singles released so far it's looking like a very good album from an artist who has been very much under the radar artist for far too long.
Coincidentally, the other day I posted Eugene Cole's excellent new single "Why Are You Holding Back" and a few other tracks from him which included a cover of Frantic Elevators/Simply Red song "Holding Back The Years". I'm in the process of putting together a 'version excursion' for the song which has been covered by quite a few soul artists. One of them is Leela James under the name Alechia James which she recorded in 2000 on the soundtrack for "Whatever It Takes". I am not able to find a sound file for it, so if anyone has an mp3 they could send it would be very much appreciated. (soulstrutter@gmail.com).
