A song that you may recall from 2006 is "Ain't That Free" by Trace feat. Swedish blue-eyed soul singer
Paul Mac Innes when it featured on the "Soul Togetherness 2006" compilation (only?).
It now gets a release on 7" vinyl by Six Nine Records which includes the
original 2004 version along with a new edit for 2024. It's
available now to pre-order and we're told will be released in a couple of weeks.
It's the label's first release for a little while, since
3TOB "My Baby" / "Love Will Find It's Way" last year.
Coincidentally, Mac Innes released a new single on Friday titled "No Chains", We last featured him with another vinyl release in 2022 on LRK Records, "Falling By The Wayside".
Excuse the pun but we can find no trace of Trace but from writing and
production credits (Christopher Ekholm and Nils Dahl) and musicians Anna Bellander (backing vocals), Carl Bellander
(trumpet) and Carl Ryden (guitar), believe they may also be from
Sweden.
