Originally included on Madison McFerrin's "I Hope You Can Forgive Me" album last May was "OMW" (on my way) which now receives a Patchyman Remix which takes it into
dub reggae territory, and quite effective it is too.
You'd be forgiven for assuming that Patchyman was, therefore, a rasta man,
but he is in fact Puerto Rican Patchy Garcia who developed a love for
early Jamaican music.
Madison's father is jazz singer Bobby McFerrin who had a world wide hit
with the reggae inspired "Don't Worry Be Happy" which won him three Grammy
awards in 1988 for Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Pop Vocal
Performance. Unbelievably, it has received almost 378m streams on Spotify
alone!
