A song released (and posted) last September by Avery Wilson, "Kiss The Sky" (which we rated quite highly but sadly it seemed to sink without
trace) has been released again today (exactly six months later) along with a
karaoke version (backing without lead vocals) and instrumental. Let's hope
it gains more attention this time around.
The song was written by Grammy winning writers / producers Chuck Harmon
and Claude Kelly (aka Louis York) and released on their Weird Workshop
label which also boasts The Shindellas on the roster.
Singer/songwriter, Avery Wilson from Camden, CT, was a contestant on season 3 of The Voice in 2012 aged only 16. He was
mentored by CeeLo Green and the favourite to win but was eliminated in the
knock out stages. After the show he hit the ground running with his first official single "If I Have To" in 2015 on RCA which peaked at #1 R&B. After a couple more singles
for RCA he went independent in 2018.
He kept crossing paths with Harmon and Kelly as well as Damon Thomas
and James Fauntelroy (who's "Nova" EP with Terrace Martins was released in Sep '23 the same month as
"Kiss The Sky" originally) who he is currently working with
producing new music.
