The Latin jazz feel of the new album by Paris based, singer,
songwriter, guitarist, Maë Defays may be explained
by her Guadeloupe roots. She studied at Paris' prestigious Didier Lockwood Music Centre (CMDL) jazz
institution.
Her debut project "Whispering" was delivered in Jan 2020 after two singles. Two more singles and a five
track EP, "Morning Rain", followed before two 2023 singles ("Mangrove" (Sep '23) and "High Tide" Nov '23) which feature on her first full length twelve track
LP "A Deeper Ocean".
Our choice cut from the album, which is already gaining attention, is "Diamonds In The Rough" for which there is a music video so the likelihood is that it may be the
next single. There are also music videos for the previous two singles (both
strong tracks) which are all shot in her native Guadeloupe.
Other recommended tracks include "Rivers Of Your Mind" and "Follow".
