One that completely passed us by, probably owing to the rather bland sleeve image with absolutely no info on it, so a big thanks to Phil Ward for highlighting it. It's a collaboration between Aloe Blacc and Otis McDonald titled "Simple Man".
We've given vocalist Aloe Blacc lead billing (as in video) alongside Otis McDonald but various sites transpose it in case you have trouble finding it (but as always we provide links below).
It's a lovely smooth 70s style jam, dare we say it .. like Silk Sonic! supported with a retro style music video.
Aloe Blac was born Egbert Nathaniel Dawkins II in California to Panamanian parents and emerged in 1995 in a group Emanon with hip-hop producer Exile, launching his solo career in 2003. After a couple of EPs and singles, his debut album "Shine Through" was released in 2006.
He's achieved three UK pop chart Top 10 hits with "I Need A Dollar" (#2 2011), "The Man" (#1 2014) and "SOS" with Aficii (#9 2019).
Otis McDonald (aka Joe Bagale) is a is a young songwriter/composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer from San Francisco. He co-wrote and produced the song and plays drums, bass, keys and guitar on it.
