Jazz singer/songwriter Ruby Wood is a product of that renowned musical hub, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. She graduated from Leeds College of Music in 2008 and is perhaps best known fronting Submotion Orchestra since 2009. Ruby has performed with various outfits such as Bonobo’s live band, Nubiyan Twist, The Sugar Sister and writing and recording with Krept & Konan, Alfa Mist, Roska, Hemai, Barney Artist, Jasper Tygner, Illaman and XOA and others.
To date, including her latest single "My Favourite Song" released today by First World Records, she has released three solo singles since 2017. The new single is from her forthcoming debut EP "Sincerely". She also released a live album "Ruby!" in 2006 and has been a featured artist on numerous recordings.
She wrote the new single with assistance from Submotion Orchestra's Chris 'Fatty' Hargreaves and Danny Templeton with Arran Kent featuring on various woodwind instruments.
First World Records roster has included Children of Zeus, [ K S R ], Yasmin Lacey, Kaida Tathum and Allysha Joy to name but a few.
