Butterfly Black is an new duo from L.A. formed out of lockdown featuring the Grammy
award-winning singer, songwriter, bassist, producer
Ben Williams and Broadway sensation
Syndee Winters who starred as 'Nala' in The Lion
King.
They have a forthcoming self-titled EP due on 25 Aug and have
released the first, Prince-inspired, single from it titled "B.R.B. (Be Right Back)".
The 7 track EP will include the current single along with all three
of their previous singles: "I Just Wanna Love You" (Mar '22), "Reaction" (Aug '22) and "Lifetime" (Feb '23)
Williams, originally from Washington D.C., won the 2009 Thelonious Monk
Institute International Jazz Competition and has released a handful of
critical-acclaimed solo albums and has worked with several
heavyweights including George Benson, David Sanborn, Robert
Glasper, Pat Metheny and Jose James amongst others.
Winters is a Broadway stage singer, dancer and actor, who has
performed in productions such as The Lion King, Motown The Musical,
and Jesus Christ Superstar. Prior to that she was a dancer for the New
York Knicks basketball team and a hip-hop and soul singer, who worked
with Grandmaster Flash on his 2009 album "The Bridge".
