Manchester jazz-funkers Secret Night Gang, led by vocalist Kemani Anderson and saxophonist Callum Connell,
released their sophomore album "Belongs on a Place Called Earth" today. Right from the opening track "Respect Me", an epic 9
minute opus with a full 3 and a bit minute intro, you just know that you
are in for a real treat. We can't help thinking that their sound on some tracks are akin to Jamiroquai meets Stevie Wonder!
The band has released just two singles since their
self-titled 2021 debut album, "Out Of My Head" and "Don't Know What Tomorrow Brings" both are included.
We are not even going to attempt to choose standouts as everyone will
have their own but on first listen we are leaning towards the soulful
opening ("Respect Me") and closing ("Things Will Work Out") tracks but that could change with further listens!
The album is available digitally, on CD and vinyl.
