The latest single from Joseph Lawrence is "No Good For Me" released today and, as is often the case, has been bundled with his
last three singles ("BeGod" (Mar '23), "Empty House" (Dec '22) and "Tomorrow" (Oct '22) suggesting that an EP/album is in the offing.
His only other release was a single "Hourglass" in Sep '21 which we assume must have been his solo debut.
Lawrence is the second artist featured today from East Anglia, hailing
from Ipswich before moving to London and honing his skills on London's
jazz scene and playing the legendary Ronnie Scott's club.
We discovered that he is, indeed, working on a new album in collaboration
with Fryars (Mark Ronson, Pharell) and Dave Okumu (Jesse Ware, Lianne La
Havas).
He's a new artist to us and these pages and we were quite surprised to
discover he is white as he has a black sounding voice quite similar in
some respects to Gabriels' Jacob Lusk.
He is/was part of a duo Joseph Lawrence & The Garden (multi-instrumentalist/producer Gibbi Bettini) who began in 2018.
Most definitely an artist to watch who has a very bright future based on
these recordings.
