We saw this re-recording of Angie Stone's "Wish I Didn't Miss You" a while ago but it then seems to have been withdrawn but has reappeared.
Your guess is as good as ours as to why this has been re-recorded and
released now. It comes with re-recorded acapella, vocal, and instrumental
versions.
Perhaps DJs may utilise the acapella and instrumentals but the 2001 original vocal version is far superior to this particular
recording. If you don't believe us then compare both versions below.
We noticed that the 2001 album version has 105.3m streams on Spotify alone, so is her highest earning song by quite a margin. I wonder if Gene McFadden and Leon Huff received any royalties for the obvious "Back Stabbers" sample? Incidentally, her next highest streamer is "No More Rain (In This Cloud)" which sampled "Neither One Of Us (Wants To Be The First To Say Goodbye)" (Gladys Knight & The Pips).
