Colemine, having drip fed us with three mediocre singles ahead of it and, dropped the full album "Wait Til I Get Over" from Durand Jones on Friday and the least said about it
the better but the clues were there, a strange and confused album. It's not an album for soul music buffs that's for sure, but then perhaps it's not meant to be? It has everything bar the kitchen sink in terms of styles ranging from pure pop (the opening track could be a Beatles song) through country, gospel, jazz, R&B, hip hop but very little soul.
Meanwhile, back on planet soul, the label has released two tracks from The
Monophonics last album, "Sage Motel" (released a year ago on 15 May '22)
on 45. The single leads with "Love You Better" (we are told that it is a brand new cut for 45) flipped with "The Shape Of My Teardrops".
Available to pre-order from Colemine for release on 16 Jun '23
