The latest single from the ground breaking Brighton based Tru Thoughts
label dropped in the inbox on Friday which we didn't get a chance to get
around to with so much catching up to do (and dozens of other promos received whist away) as well as Friday's
releases to contend with.
It's a debut single for the label "Stand Tall" by The Sindecut & Ijeoma who are the veterans
of the UK music scene being credited as one of the pioneers of the UK hip-hop scene releasing their
debut single in 1988 and the acclaimed "Changing The Scenery" album in 1990.
The line-up currently consists of SJ Fingers (Karl Gibson) and New
York-based Geordie, singer-songwriter Ijeoma (Annika Klein).
A bit of sleuthing discovered that in fact the single was released as
a promo (billed to Ijeoma only) on
Mural Music
in 2005, so those who must have it on vinyl should be able to track one
down.
The song samples Eddie Kendricks' "Intimate Friends" and comes with a
straight mix and a Club Mix.
