We first came across composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Khamari (Barnes) last Sep ('22) with his second single "Drifting" which was the follow-up to "Doctor, My Eyes" (Nov 2021). He released a six track EP "Eldorado" in Oct 2020.
"Drifting" had samples of Nina Simone's "Feeling Good" interwoven throughout
and his new single "Right My Wrongs" also borrows from Darondo's accaimed 1973 Music City outing "Didn't I" which has seen several reissues including a 7" vinyl reissue by
Kent in 2012 and was featured in the TV series 'Breaking Bad'.
Since "Drifting" he's released a further two singles and all five
singles will feature on a forthcoming album "A Brief Nirvana" due on 26 May.
Khamari is a Dorchester native of Boston, MA, and attended Berklee
College of Music and now lives in L.A. After only a short time in the
music business he is already being compared to the likes of Frank
Ocean and Mac Miller.
