We were introduced to Norfolk native, Kilburn (London) based,
Jodie (Richardson) in July 2021 when she sent us her debut
single "Pushover" which had more than a nod towards Melba Moore's rarity "The Magic
Touch". She later paired it with "Treat Me Better" for a vinyl release on Original Gravity which sold out within 24
hours.
Her third song was "Threads" released last August which passed us by but she now has her fourth
recording "I'm Not Your Fool" released on Friday (21 Apr '23). A bit like "Pushover", it has a 'false
start' with a slow intro before firing into a 159 BPM Northern Soul
stomper. The song has almost four parts, a 50 second building intro, the vocal section and a cool instrumental break at 2:44 with the vocals coming back in to complete the song with a sudden drop dead ending.
We are led to believe that it will be paired with an instrumental "Johnnies Blues" by Original Gravity's Neil Anderson for vinyl release.
