We were alerted to this release by Italian producer
Crossroads featuring Raffaella Zago a couple of weeks ago
when a friend heard it on a radio show unannounced and asked if we knew
it. We initially thought it was Mystique who recorded it in 1977 on their self
titled album which featured Ralph Johnson (formerly of The Impressions) and was reissued by Expansion in 2017.
The song is "If You're In Need" written by Grey & Hanks and we believe that it was first recorded by
The Ebonys
in 1976. As well as
Mystique
it has been covered by
L.T.D. (on "Something to Love") in 1977 and by
Lenny Williams
("Love Current") in 1979.
