Bristol (UK) based DJ/producer X-Ray Ted (Andreas Niklas) states that
his mission is to bring smiles to faces and he certainly has done that
with a pair of mashups put out yesterday on Bandcamp. They're also
available on other platforms.
The lead track "Talkin'" uses Bottom & Co's 1974 Motown rarity "Gonna Find A True Love" which I'm amazed to see now fetches up to £460 with only one
currently for sale at £485.64 on Discogs. I'm so glad I managed to
snag one way back in the day for a fraction of that price! The song
was also recorded by The Patterson Twins in 1978 at a more frantic
pace. It is even more expensive and only available on 7" as a promo
but was released on their first album "Let Me Be Your Lover"
which is also a very expensive item but has been reissued a couple of
times on both LP and CD.
The flip uses another Motown song,
Diana Ross & The Supremes' "He's My Sunny Boy" which was originally the flip to "Someday We'll Be Together" in
1969 which actually surprised me as I thought it was earlier than
that.
Thanks on this one to Gary Van Den Bussche who sent it over this
morning.
