A fourteen track compilation of the retro soul form Italian and Dutch
label Tardam, "Do It All Night! The Sound Of Tardam Records". The label takes its name from the two cities that it emanated from in
2014, Taranto in Southern Italy and Amsterdam by DJ
Goffredo Santovito and musicians Fabrizio Carrieri and Mikkel Van Der
Meulen.
The label has released nine singles between then and 2019 all with a
sixties boogaloo, modjazz, soul, ska, r’n’b & funk feel. One or two
were covers of Northern Soul 'classics' by The Mighty Typhoons. Lou Pride's "I'm Comum Home in The Mornun" (which rarely turns up for sale on original vinyl, although was
heavily bootlegged in the mid 70s as it was a huge sound), and a
respectable cover of Margie Joseph's, Willie Tee penned, crossover
classic, "One More Chance" featuring Beulah Enser on vocals. They have been posted previously last year when they were
released digitally.
Note that "The Snake" is thankfully not the 'played to death' Al Wilson version of Oscar Brown Jr.'s song.
If this is your bag then I'd suggest you grab it from
Bandcamp
as it's only £7.50 there versus £10.99 on Amazon. It's also available on vinyl.
