Nanette Maxine [2022] - When I Cried Boo hoo hoo [Xam.an Records]

Nanette Maxine is a gospel and R&B singer, songwriter, and poet from Richmond, VA. Her full name is Nanette Maxine Brown and she was apparently named after the 60s soul singer Maxine Brown.

Assuming it is the same artist, she has  recordings credited to her from as far back as 1994 as there is an EP from her on Bandcamp with a release date of 1994 and  a couple of credits on Discogs from 1995 and 2005.

Her last single "Walls" did rather well and she follows it up with "When I Cried Boo hoo hoo" on 4 Apr 2022.

Samuel Archer [2022] - Soul Music Vineyard [Samali Music Publishing] (Full Album)

An album posted here way back on 1 Nov 2021 from Samuel Archer "Soul Music Vineyard" has only today (15 Apr 2022) been released on DSP's.

I first became aware of Samuel Archer via his remix of Raja-Nee's hit "Come Get This Love" in July 2021, but he has been around since 1989. He is originally from Tobago and now resides in Newark.

He released the album on 1 Oct 2021 (available exclusively from BandCamp only) which contains 27 tracks and includes artists such as Raja-Nee, Nadira Norjahan, Terrence Russell, Afi Soul,  Camile Lawrence, Michelle Thompson, Lasro The King, Kia Renee, Jamia, Lex, The Great T.K.

My choice cuts from first listen to the album are "Like I Love You" feat. Lasro The King, "Unbothered" feat. Kia Renee, "You Know" feat. Camille Lawrence and "I Want To Know" feat. Raja-Nee.

Otis Kane [2022] - Free [Self Released]

The follow up to "Wanna Love You" by Otis Kane is "Free" released today. As is often the case there is no video yet for the new single and a video for the last wasn't available when posted so I'll post the video for "Wanna Love You".

Another with a retro, yet contemporary, feel if that makes sense!

Sixteen year old Luna Elle from Toronto (Mississauga) has featured  several times on the blog since her debut single "True Love" last May and is definitely one to watch.

Her latest single "Why" is out today (15 Apr 2022) and she has a debut EP due imminently.

As there's no video available for the new single yet I've re-posted the video for her debut "True Love" and her last single (released 11 Mar 2022) "Too Deep" which wasn't posted.

Charli Taft Feat. Jords [2022] - Ride [DLUXLIFE]

Charli Taft from Liverpool probably won't be to the purists taste but she consistently produces commercial (some might say pop but what is pop other than commercial?) contemporary music.

I won't be drawn into the all to frequent trap of dissing her music just because a/ she's white, b/ she's British and c/ commercial as this is her fourth single in a row that has been featured on the blog.

"Ride" is released today (15 Apr 2022) and features Jords (Jordan Edwards-Wilks) from Croydon on rap.

UPDATE: It would appear that this track has been withdrawn. It was available on Spotify on 15 Apr and on iTunes but is no loner available on either.
